At a height of up to six meters, male giraffes are the tallest land animals. Their neck can measure two and a half meters and weigh up to 250 kilograms. Yet they only have seven cervical vertebrae, like us men.
Their tongue is up to 50 centimeters long, insensitive to thorny weeds and has an unusual color: it is dark blue. This color protects them from sunburn when they use it to surround and tear leaves from trees. Between meals, even animals as big as giraffes have to sleep. When no danger threatens them.
