The Colchis Pheasant, also called ring-necked pheasant or hunting pheasant, is a species of galliform birds native to Asia that was introduced to Europe at the beginning of the Middle Ages. Today it is the most common species. Males, unlike females, are more imposing and have very colorful plumage with a dominant reddish color as well as a long tail with red and green patterns. Some males also have a white collar around the neck.
